Our North Star

There are not many things that have been in my life more consistently than pushing personal limits, adventuring, and fostering community.

Through my own experiences traveling the world, training in different martial arts, learning to free dive, cross country hitchhike, and many other wanderings, I’ve been fortunate enough to meet incredible people to co-create stories with. In all these moments, the most rewarding, occurred at the intersection of challenge and community.

Learning to uncover and push past our physical limits proves that we are more capable than the self limiting beliefs in our head. Experiencing that has always provided moments filled with wonder and authenticity. Leaning into that a little bit more, the idea of pushing personal limits to jumpstart a personal narrative continues to transfix me. It's there where I find real internal work can happen, an opportunity for positive change. Finding those moments (and amplifying them) can build momentum to then spread to all areas of life. We discover our physical world is a tangible realization of the mental world. Practicing pushing limits physically allows us solidify this practice mentally.

Then you throw a community of supportive, motivated, individuals into the mix and a whole new world of behavior change happens. The feedback loop of watching someone progress towards a goal, show just how possible it can be to do the impossible. It then becomes so much more motivating to progress towards your own goals.

I’ve founded Create Momentum Adventures because we can build more momentum in our lives together than any of us could alone. We do that by creating experiences that methodically and scientifically encourage personal growth and peak performance. That can only be done with experts, so they will be there every step of the way.

My professional career has been focused on researching and designing systems to improve the experience and effectiveness of technology. My personal life has been focused on adventuring and creating rich experiences of community. Create Momentum Adventure blends this background. What is the outcome? Unforgettable (and challenging) adventure that awaken the self and a community of people who are excited to make it happen.

Thank you for being a part of the magic.

Each of our adventures are grounded in 3 pillars

I. SELF DISCOVERY

We get certain truths about the self by looking at it both up close and from afar. High performers seem to have that perfect distance and resolution when making a decision. Getting to that decision making ability takes time, training, and guidance. We’ve seen over and over that there are hints of the self right at the edge of what is/ isn't physically and mentally possible. Now, it may seem counter intuitive but the moment you focus on that edge it moves, and typically in the direction you want it to. Attention flexes neuro-pathways, strengthening connections to new patterns of thought and ability. It's almost as if what is/isn't possible is dependent solely on the forces of patience and your attention. These two forces drive that edge to places you didn't know you could get to. There are limits of course, but we continuously find that those limits are much farther than you might think. If what you have come here looking for is those limits, we have them.

II. TRANSFORMATION

Learning about your self undoubtedly uncovers not only where you are, but where you want to be. Transformation finds you when you are forced to update your beliefs and inch towards that version of yourself you realize you want. Traditionally cultures have utilized ‘rites of passage’ to facilitate transformation from one identity to another. Typically these moments of transformation have a guide, or elders, or that supports the person moving through transformation. On each one of our adventures our performance coach will serve as our guide. They will facilitate exercises and a workshops throughout the trip to get us closer to the version of ourselves we sought to explore. Our performance coaches range from behavioral psychologist to olympic trainers. Every mentor we choose is an expert in peak performance, flow state, and personal development.

III. COMMUNITY

Who are we sharing our stories with? Every time we gather on our adventures we are creating a tribe that will have watched and participated in your awareness and progress. These will be the people who will fight alongside you through a bit of fear and challenge. Each one of the people on this journey will be there to reflect back to you your own strengths and weaknesses. Working together to find flow within the group is crucial to improvement across the board. You will be tasked with positively impacting and improving the wellbeing of those around you, while also receiving feedback on ways you can better work alongside your community. Everyone is here for the same reason. We are trying to inspire within us a way to show up in the world that enhances not only our own experience, but the experience of others.
